A great combination of fun entertainment for kids of all ages and delicious cafe meals and treats for adults, Fair Play Cafe has something for everyone.

Frustrated with the shortage of venues catering for the needs of the whole family, Hunter mums Kerry and Yvonne set about creating a place where both children and their parents could relax and have some fun.

Two and a half years after a frustrated conversation about the lack of family-friendly dinner venues in Newcastle, friends Kerry and Yvonne opened the doors to Fair Play Cafe. Using their own young families with children aged between 3 and 11 as a guideline, Kerry and Yvonne have worked hard to provide a venue where everyone will be comfortable and happy.

With a brightly coloured, three-level play structure, dedicated toddler area, 6 metre rock-climbing wall and play station room, they have certainly provided entertainment for kids of all ages.

For the parents, there is a range of fresh and delicious cafe-style meals and tempting cakes and sweets prepared on site by one of their two chefs. “The cupcakes are very popular,” Kerry remarks about the distinctive cupcakes with their bright icing and lolly decorations. “We get lots of comments about them and they are something people seem to be looking out for.”

A Family Friendly Place to Visit

Yvonne notes that the centre is already attracting a group of regular visitors. “We have some parents that are already visiting us regularly. The kids enjoy playing and the parents can relax with a coffee.”

Both Yvonne and Kerry are determined that Fair Play Cafe will be a place where families can relax and enjoy themselves. They are particularly focused on bringing together a team of employees that are not only efficient, but also friendly and outgoing. They want to create an inviting atmosphere where parents can relax knowing that the welfare and enjoyment of their children is a paramount concern not only of the centre owners, but of each staff member.

Play Centre Birthday Parties

In addition to casual visits, Fair Play Cafe offers several birthday party packages. These are all inclusive with party bags and a birthday cake included. A piñata and/or specially designed cake is available for an additional charge and hot and cold food platters can be ordered for parents and other guests.

The Fair Play Cafe party options include standard, deluxe and ultimate party packages, a karaoke party and an extreme climbing party, which has already proven to be very popular.

All party packages include use of a Fair Play Cafe party room, free entry for accompanying adults, and a range of meal options include healthy choice meals. A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required when booking a party and prices are calculated for a minimum of eight children.

The Rock Climbing Wall is not included in the general admission charge and is only available to children aged 5 years and older. There is no admission charge for adults and children under one. Socks must be worn by all children using the play equipment.
